Layout 3: Tafsil

With Tafsil, we have tried to recreate a typical GWR station and goods yard set in the period of the 1930's, featuring GWR engines with copper capped chimneys and gleaming green paint-work. Keep an eye open for engines from other regions.

The layout has an extensive goods yard and cattle dock. All track has been hand built using C & L components. The buildings are scratch built and typical GWR in style. There is a good supply of kit and scratch built loco's and rolling stock belonging to members, all built to fine scale from the humble industrial tank to main line Castles and Halls.

New pages have been developed to show the range of tank engines of South Wales origin which frequently run on Tafsil

A new less portable extension has been constructed in the O gauge rooms, which includes an extensive engine shed. This increases the operational capabilities of the layout on club running nights.
