The club received an unexpected and extremely generous gift of an extensive model fairground and street scene in Summer 2006 from Ray Kingswell, which he had built himself over the previous several years. Most of the individual items are Faller kits complete with lights and motors. Hence the entire scene comes alive.
With his permission, we have decided to name the fairground after its creator and donor. The main fairground baseboards have been strengthen to make the display more portable and also to allow it to be stacked safely whilst in storage. One additional board has been created to show a number of extra items Ray has given us, as well as additional items donated by club members.
The Kingswell Fairground will be on display at the next Open Day on Saturday November 17th, in the clubrooms above the Cadoxton Conservative Club. We wish to record our thanks to Ray Kingswell for this very attractive scenic model and are sorry to record that he passed away in April 2007.
